Faith-based colleges may support students in their spiritual journeys in a variety of ways. Given that they are built on Biblical principles and, at least in some way, reflect the faith that they were founded on, Faith-based colleges do seek to support students in their walk with the Lord and through their questions regarding Faith.
One of the ways that Faith-based colleges may support students in their spiritual journeys would be through campus ministries. Many Faith-based colleges have campus ministries at their school. Campus Ministries exist to help students grow spiritually and provide opportunities for them to strengthen their faith. These opportunities may come in the form of chapels, worship nights, events with guest speakers, Bible studies, small-group devotionals, and more.
Students also have the opportunity to join Campus Ministries and receive Spiritual mentorship from a supervisor while they commit to serving their peers. Campus Ministries may also provide opportunities for ministry and, potentially, mission trips as well. Students who are interested in getting involved in Campus Ministries should go to the Campus Ministries department on campus, talk to someone involved, or inquire by email.
There may also be other student-led clubs that provide fellowship, Bible studying, and devotionals. These are great ways to get to know students on campus who have similar spiritual goals. These can usually be found on the school's website with the list of their clubs, but you can also inquire with the student life department or ask an upperclassman.
Mentorships may be found aside from Campus Ministries as well, through professors or spiritual counselors on campus. Mentors are just people who can speak into a student's life, provide spiritual counseling and advice, and be an example of Christ for them. In some cases, it may be difficult to find a mentor on campus, and in that case, going through local Churches is also a great option.
These are some of the more common ways that Faith-based colleges support students in their spiritual journey. Each college may have their own unique ways of offering support and encouragement. For specific information on how spiritual support is offered or available at a Faith-based college, check the website or inquire with the admissions and/or student life department of the college(s) you are interested in.
