Is there a focus on specific subjects or disciplines at faith-based colleges?

Whether or not there is a focus on specific subjects or disciplines depends on each individual Faith-based college. Ideally, given their foundation of faith/Christianity, there will be some focus on the Bible, Jesus, and faith. How this is seen may vary from college to college.

Some Faith-based colleges may require students to take certain theology/Bible classes as part of their Faith-based identity, or they may incorporate Biblical principles into other classes and areas of study. In these ways, for example, they may have a focus on theology/Biblical studies.

Different colleges may also excel in different majors, which may affect which ones they push in marketing or advertising efforts. One Faith-based college may excel in Education and Humanities and encourage students interested in that area to apply, another may focus more on STEM subjects. This doesn't mean that their other programs are not also good, but just that these are more popular or they specialize in them.

However, if there is a focus on specific subjects or disciplines, it likely will be different for each school. It is difficult to say that there is a common subject or major that every Faith-based college focuses on or pushes, aside from possibly theology or Biblical studies. Even then, that doesn't mean they insist that students major/minor in Biblical Studies or theology, only that they have a base knowledge provided by the school. For more specific information about what subjects or disciplines a Faith-based college may focus on or specialize in, contact the admissions department of the college(s) you are interested in.
